General Information

SAS software is available through a site license from the MSU Computer Store. This is an annual license that expires December 31, 2009. All licenses must be renewed at this time.

SAS 9.2 is now available for purchase. You must have a valid license for this year in order to purchase the new media set. If you have questions, please contact the Site License Coordinator.

SAS Software-Departmental Use
SAS licenses are available for purchase by departments for MSU owned equipment. The license must be paid for with a University account number and are not returnable.
SAS Software-Student/Personal Use
SAS licenses are available for purchase by students and faculty. A student verification form must be filled out at the MSU Computer Store at time of purchase or MSU ID must be presented at time of purchase. Faculty must show valid MSU ID at time of purchase. These licenses are not returnable.

Installation Information

  1. Purchase a license for SAS (annual renewal required). Your receipt is your proof of license.
  2. Activation Code-You will be provided with a license file disk at the time of purchase that you will need to activate your software.
  3. Purchase Media if Needed-Insert the first CD, SAS Foundation Media, and follow the on screen instructions.
      For installation on Windows Vista:
      • You must have Windows Vista Business or higher.
      • You may install the XP media but must do so as the administrator.
      • For more Vista assistance, please contact the Site License Coordinator.

Upgrades

If a new version is released, you may purchase a new media set as long as you have a current and valid license.

Concurrent Licensing Information

Floating/Network Licenses allow a fixed amount of users access to the computer software at one time. The number of simultaneous users may not exceed the number of licenses purchased.

Home Use Provision

Home use is allowed under the license agreement if the software is being used for University work.
