General Information

Adobe Box Copy Software-Departmental/Student/Personal Use: Departments, students, faculty, and staff are able to purchase Adobe box copy software. Customers will be limited to one copy of an individual product per calendar year.
Adobe Software-Departmental Use: Departments are able to purchase Adobe licenses and media at volume discounts. All licenses are perpetual and will not expire. These licenses are for departments only and are not returnable.
Adobe Software-Student/Personal Use: Students, faculty and staff are able to purchase Adobe licenses and media at a substantial discount. Customers will be limited to one copy of an individual product per calendar year. Licenses are not returnable.

Installation Information

Adobe Box Copy Software-Departmental/Student/Personal Use: The software comes in a box with everything you need to install and activate the software. Insert the CD and follow the on screen instructions.
Adobe Software-Departmental Use
Adobe Software-Student/Personal Use: The student software comes in a box with everything you need to install and activate the software. Insert the CD and follow the on screen instructions.

Upgrades

Adobe Box Copy Software-Departmental/Student/Personal Use: Upgrades are not available.
Adobe Software-Departmental Use: Upgrade Plans are only available with the purchase of a new license. The plan will provide you with automatic upgrades to new versions of the license you purchased for a set amount of time. Upgrade Plans that are purchased after March 1, 2008 will be valid until March 31, 2010. At that time, you can choose to renew it for another two years. Prices will be pro rated every six months as the contract progresses.
Adobe Software-Student/Personal Use: Upgrades are not available.

Concurrent licenses are not available.

Adobe Software-Departmental Use

Adobe offers concurrent licenses for most of their products that are available to departments. Concurrent licenses are generally used in a lab environment. With this option, a certain number of computers in the lab are allowed to use the program at one time. The benefit of concurrent licenses is that you do not have to license every machine that is in the lab, however, each machine must have a full install of the program on it. If you plan to use concurrent licenses, you MUST manage them with a license server.

Concurrent Licenses can not be used if you are in a virtual environment and are accessing a server for your software. Each machine that is using the license must have the software loaded on it.

Home Use Provision

Adobe Box Copy Software-Departmental/Student/Personal Use: A home use provision is not available with box copy products. Only one installation is provided with this purchase.
Adobe Software-Departmental Use: Adobe licenses that are available for departments do have a home use provision. The primary user of the computer on which the software is installed in a department, may install a second copy of the software for his or her exclusive use on a portable computer or a computer located at his or her home, provided that the software on the portable computer or the home computer is not used at the same time as the software on the primary computer.
Adobe Software-Student/Personal Use: Adobe licenses that are available for students and for personal use do have a home use provision. The primary user of the computer on which the software is installed, may install a second copy of the software for his or her exclusive use on a second computer, provided that the software on the second computer is not used at the same time as the software on the primary computer.

Media

Adobe Box Copy Software-Departmental/Student/Personal Use: Media is provided with the license.
Adobe Software-Departmental Use: Media must be purchased separately.
Adobe Software-Student/Personal Use: Media is provided with the license.
